Robbie Gonçalves is a self-taught and curious traditional  Brazilian artist.

Graduated in Bachelor of Nautical Sciences from Merchant Marine Officer Training School, she worked for 14 years as a Merchant Marine Nautical Officer on board different types of ships.

Never stopping  dreaming, after 10 years sailing, she graduated in Children's Book Illustration from London Art College, receiving the Certificate of Merit from the Distance Learning Colleges Association. 

 

"I consider myself an imaginative illustrator & writer, passionate about creating dreamlike scenarios and characters using watercolors, gouache and other traditional art supplies, seeking inspiration from Fairy Tales, poetry and Life itself. I believe that our experiences made us exactly who we are, so why not use it as inspiration?

 

           However, feelings speak louder and, as art is a reflection of the artist's soul,

you can find part of my soul in some of my works. If you find it, be kind,

offer him a smile or a cup of tea...

and talk a little about life."

Robbie is Carioca, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro,

and she´s currently based on Santa Catarina, Brasil.
